Bravo, an incredibly affectionate and happy 4-year-old Labrador, faced a devastating twist of fate when he fell from the bed of a moving truck, leaving him severely injured. The sight was heart-wrenching: Bravo had an obvious fracture in his upper jawbone, and there was so much blood that it was difficult to assess the full extent of his injuries. The cost of treatment was unknown but potentially significant, leaving his owners in a state of agony, torn between committing to an expensive treatment plan or letting him go.
“When our yellow lab Bravo was seriously injured recently we brought him to Animal ER Care. When we were initially presented with the worst-case options for his future, and the significant cost to see if those options were accurate, my wife and I were strongly considering euthanizing Bravo.”
Deciding What to Do Next
The situation was dire. Overnight stays in the ICU can be an expensive affair, adding yet more financial burden on the owners. But thanks to the generosity of others, Bravo was admitted to the ICU for overnight care. This generosity allowed Bravo’s family to take a breath and think through the decision they were facing, knowing that Bravo was in good hands receiving the care he needed. The staff worked tirelessly to stabilize Bravo and address his wounds. Specialists were called in to evaluate his jaw fracture and develop a treatment plan.

Bravo Recovers 
Under the skilled care at our facility, Bravo made a miraculous recovery. The next day, Bravo walked out of the hospital wagging his tail, his only restriction being a soft food diet until his jaw fracture healed. Today, Bravo is on the road to recovery, a living testament to the power of hope and the kindness of others.
